Any idea what this means. I tried stopping the job and deleting it but I
couldn't do either.
Thanks,
Dan D.
Hi,
by my experiance it usually means that SQL Server Agent is cleaning up
temporary object it has created during execution of job.
Usually it is fast so you cannot see it but sometimes it takes time,
especially if there is a lot of data.

|||I forgot to say that it has been that way for over 2 weeks so something must
be wrong. But I can't remove it so I'm not sure what to do about it.

What does the job do?
Perhasps you might look at Task Manager to see what happened.

I'll bet you've got it setup to email upon completion and SQL Mail isn't
working.

|||There are no email notifications in the package. And our SQLMail is working.
Every step is an execute sql task.

|||Hi,
Did you try to restart SQL Server Agent?
Maybe restart could stop the job.
