Hi
We having problems running our scheduled reports.
A domain admin had originally scheduled them under her network username
which as i said had domain admin rights. Those domain rights where taken away
from her username and then we created a sql user name to run the report,
since then the scheduled reports do not run and not quite sure where to look.
Reporting the username on sql has accessadmin rights and public rights on
the reporting databases, does anyone have an inkling of what might be going
on?
I have checked the log but it doesn't give any errors it just says this

basically it looks as though the report has run' but i know it hasn't.Did you check all three logs, keep in mind there may be multiple logs for the
same day:
- ReportServerWebApp
- ReportServerService
- ReportServer
Are there any errors in any of these at the time the subscription was
supposed to run?
Also, does the log on account running the ReportServer service a Domain
Admin account? It needs to be able to look up account credentials for RS
users on your network.
And, is your ReportServer instance configured to work with Windows
authentication, SQL Authentication or both?
Thanks.

Scheduled Job permissions question
Hi,
I have a SQL server 2000, and I want a specific domain group to be able to see, start, stop and manage scheduled jobs. The domain group is only able to see jobs that it owns and none others.
How can I fix this? I want them to see all jobs and manage them, without giving this ability to any other users.
Is there a way to do this without being sys admin?

We have just recently solved this issue by making a simple table-driven .NET C# app to select jobs from msdb..sysjobs where the job_id's and windows user id's match up with our table entries.
I am a Production DBA and manage several servers where the application owners need to be able to run jobs in off-hours. Since the only way to allow them access to do this is by compromising security, we developed a simple application that performs its privileged access connection in the application, but only allows the users that are in a specific Windows Group to start the application and run jobs listed in the table.
The set of tables contain related records for the Windows UserID matched against Job_ID's. We have another column that contains the connections strings to use to connect to the various servers that he/she may need access to.
This seems to be working out very well.
Hopefully this will help.
Marty B|||Well that is an interesting solution to the security issue.
I will consider it, and then perhaps build an app to do this kind of thing.
Thank you for the reply, it helps

Schedule the shutdown selected clients.
Hi all,
We running a Win 2000 domain with XP sp2 clients.
I have been asked to find a way to shutdown selected clients on a Friday
evening. Is there any way to schedule this through a GPO?
I am considering configuring a script to run shutdown.exe in a batch file
but obviously this offers no way to control the process centrally. Does
anyone know of a better way?
Ideally I would like to save any documents left open before the shutdown.
All advice is greatly appreciated. Simon.Hi
This is the SQL Server NG, you may get a bettwer answer by posting this to
the .Windows.* NG.
Off the top of my head, look at http://www.microsoft.com/smserver/ and
http://www.microsoft.com/MOM/
